DC Universe: The Exhibit Opens May 24
(UPDATED MAY 18)
The media was out in full force to get a first look at the latest (and we think, greatest) addition to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, DC Universe: The Exhibit. Lifelong comic book aficionado Gene Simmons of KISS fame was the special guest, noting in a brief speech his special love for DC Superhero The Green Lantern and astonishing even the fanboys and girls in attendance with his historical knowledge. The editorial team of WarnerBros.com was thrilled to be in attendance and without giving out too many secrets before the Public Grand Opening on May 24, here are just a few goodies that caught our eye today. Check out this new video of the event and some fun photos!
(UPDATED MAY 11)
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood and DC Entertainment have combined forces for DC Universe: The Exhibit, which will be the latest star attraction on the historic Warner Bros. lot, featuring the greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains.
As part of the already popular Studio Tour, guests will be able to explore authentic props and costumes from the highly anticipated summer film, Suicide Squad, two months prior to the film’s theatrical debut on August 5; as well as from the current blockbuster, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has captured more than $855 million to date at the worldwide box office.
Inside DC Universe: The Exhibit, guests will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek at David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad as they explore assets on a rotating basis. Elements from characters Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Joker, Boomerang, Enchantress, Katana, Diablo, Slipknot, Rick Flag and Killer Croc will interchange throughout the summer in advance of the film’s release. Imagine going inside Harley Quinn’s actual Belle Reve prison cell and snapping the perfect selfie!
This one-of-a-kind exhibit also showcases Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice through an interactive experience, paying homage to the original Super Hero, Superman, and nocturnal crime fighter, Batman. Guests will have the opportunity to get up close to Kryptonite, Superman’s sole weakness, and see striking Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman costumes, as well as the costumes of Lois Lane, Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne and Alfred, original Batcave set pieces, and much more.
Also see the Bat lab in the Batcave from Ben Affleck’s first outing as Batman.
In addition, the exhibit pays homage to the origins of DC Comics, including all seven Super Heroes of the Justice League, exclusively at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood’s Executive Director Danny Kahn says:
Since 1934, DC Comics has built a legacy of creating the world’s greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains. ‘DC Universe: The Exhibit’ gives you the chance to explore the world of these characters from their first comic book appearance to our latest feature blockbusters.
Stay tuned for even more exciting news about DC Universe: The Exhibit as we get closer to the public grand opening on May 24. Time to start making your travel plans this summer!
