87th Annual Academy Award Nominations

Warner Bros.Pictures & New Line Receive 11 Noms

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences has announced its nominations for the 87th Annual Academy Awards with Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema receiving a total of 11 nominations. American Sniper, which opens in theaters everywhere this Friday, led the way with six nominations, including “Best Picture,” as well as a “Best Actor” nod for Bradley Cooper. Bradley Cooper also received an Oscar nomination for "Best Actor" for his critically acclaimed performance as the late U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

The Judge

Silver screen icon Robert Duvall picked up a "Best Supporting Actor" Oscar nomination for his dramatic performance in The Judge, which arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on January 27.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

The final installment of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy (with Evangline Lilly and Orlando Bloom pictured above), received its nom for "Best Sound Editing" acknowledging the work of Brent Burge and Jason Canovas.
