The Long Summer of George Adams (TV Movie)
Original Broadcast Date: January 18, 1982
James Garner stars in a lighthearted tale about the vices and virtues of small-town life, based on the novel by Weldon Hill.
It‘s 1952 in Cushing, Oklahoma, and George Adams (Garner) knows his time with the railroad has come to an end. A steam-engine expert in an industry switching to diesel, George juggles a second job, struggles to keep his relationship afloat with his too-busy wife, despite his dalliance with the neighborhood temptress and other distractions while he figures out what to do with the rest of his life.
Directed by his Rockford Files costar Stuart Margolin, The Long Summer of George Adams was a favorite of Gamer's, a TV movie he recalled as “a delightful film...I treasured the experience of working with Stuart again."
