Wendy Aylsworth Named Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Technical Operations; Spencer Stephens Named Vice President, Production Technology, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group

(August 4, 2008 - Burbank CA) - As part of Warner Bros. Entertainment’s aggressive commitment to explore and implement the latest technological advances in production and industry standards, the company has promoted two executives with expertise in these fields. Wendy Aylsworth has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, and Spencer Stephens has been named to the newly created position of Vice-President, Production Technology, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. In her new post, Aylsworth oversees the establishment of new technologies for Warner Bros.’ production divisions and assesses the impact of emerging technologies on content creation and distribution. Her department participates in national and international technical standards and trade organizations to promote commonality for the benefit of the entertainment sector. “Wendy has taken a lead position not only for our Studio but in the external organizations dedicated to creating new standards for such exciting innovations as digital cinema and 3-D viewing for the home,” said Chuck Dages, Executive Vice President, Emerging Technologies, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. “This promotion recognizes not only her achievements to date but the increasing importance of her efforts to our Studio and our industry.” Spencer Stephens has been named to the newly created position of Vice President, Production Technology, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. In this newly created position, Stephens will be responsible for overseeing the creation, evaluation and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to create new digital infrastructures, procedures and workflows that will facilitate the production needs of the Studio’s motion picture and television productions. He will also continue his leadership role in overseeing the Warner Bros. Entertainment Group’s ongoing support of PEPFAR (The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief). “Spencer has already played a vital role in guiding the Studio’s efforts in these exciting and innovative projects that are revolutionizing the way traditional production is done,” said Dages. “His new position will allow him to concentrate his considerable knowledge, expertise and skill to our ongoing and new projects.” Stephens has been integral in creating new templates for production for Telepictures Productions’ “TMZ,” creating a virtually tapeless newsroom that enables the show to bring stories to air with greater speed, economic efficiencies and with greater ecology. He is working on implementing a similar infrastructure for Telepictures’ “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” which has moved to the lot and begins taping here September 3rd. Aylsworth was previously Vice President, Technology, Warner Bros. Technical Operations since 1999. She joined the Studio in 1994 as Director, Technology in the Studio’s newly created Feature Animation division establishing all digital production operations. Prior to that, she managed the software department for theme park rides and directed the engineering efforts for animation at The Walt Disney Co., which she joined in 1989. Aylsworth began her career in the aerospace industry; designing and developing computing systems for operational military aircraft at Lockheed Aircraft Co. and managing software departments in R&D and military training simulators and Honeywell Inc. She serves as Engineering Vice President of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, directing the Society’s standards activities and liaising with a wide variety of other standards organizations. In 2008, she restructured the Technology Committees to better align with the standards work with the new digital production and distribution chains used for audio/video content in the 21st century. As the former Chair of SMPTE’s D-Cinema Technology Committee, she oversaw the creation of the first 24 standards for D-Cinema, and their later adoption by the International Standards Organization. In addition to SMPTE, she has been active in such standards activities at the ATSC, CableLabs, SMPTE, and led to her Vice Chairmanship of the Radiocommunication Broadcasting Multimedia Working Party at the International Telecommunications Union in Geneva, Switzerland. She holds an MS/MBA (Beta Gamma Sigma) in Managerial Sciences/Strategic Planning from the University of Southern California. Her BS is in Computer Sciences from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Stephens was previously Vice President and General Manager of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging, the Studio’s state of the art digital post production and restoration facility. He joined Warner Bros. Technical Operations in 2002 as Vice President, Technology. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Technology and Digital Production for Walt Disney Television Animation, where he was the architect of their transition from traditional to digital animation and built a digital end-to-end virtual studio that brought together facilities across three continents. He holds a BSC in physics from the University of Sussex, UK and a MS in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He will continue to be headquartered in Burbank. # # #
