WBCP Announced the Return of "Harry Potter: The Exhibition" to New York's Discovery Times Square

(October 5, 2012 – New York City, NY) – “Harry Potter” fans can purchase tickets beginning today for the chance to step inside the famous wizard’s magical world with “Harry Potter: The Exhibition,” returning to Discovery Times Square on November 3. Since its hugely successful run in New York City in 2011, “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” has been updated significantly with artifacts from the film series, including the final film. Back by popular demand, this stop in New York City will serve as the exhibition’s return to North America after a yearlong international tour. Tickets are available for $19.50 (child 5-12), $25 (adult) and $22.50 (senior 65 and over) and can be purchased starting today online at DiscoveryTS.com, at the Discovery Times Square box office (226 West 44th Street) or by calling (866) 987-9692. In addition to the hundreds of original props and costumes from the “Harry Potter” films displayed during the exhibition’s first time in New York, which the New York Times described as “quite bewitching,” and “making J.K. Rowling’s universe palpably vivid,” original artifacts from the series finale, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2,” will be on display for the first time, including a new vignette dedicated to the epic battle of Hogwarts. Visitors can also celebrate the holidays at “Harry Potter: The Exhibition,” as the exhibition will be open during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays. “Harry Potter: The Exhibition,” created by Global Experience Specialists, Inc. (GES) in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, will be displayed at Discovery Times Square from November 3, 2012, through April 7, 2013. The 14,000-square-foot experiential exhibition, invites visitors to visit dramatic displays inspired by the Hogwarts film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes and props from the films. “Harry Potter: TheExhibition” offers fans a firsthand view of hundreds of artifacts displayed in settings inspired by the film sets including the Great Hall, Hagrid's hut, the Gryffindor common room, and more. "We are pleased to offer New York residents and visitors this special holiday presentation of ‘Harry Potter: The Exhibition,’ now with new and exciting additions from the final films,” said James Sanna, President of Discovery Times Square. “For the first time ever we have items from each film in one location. There is no better way to celebrate this iconic series than to actually walk among the costumes and props that helped bring this world to life.” The exhibition made its world premiere in Chicago in April 2009 before traveling on to Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York and Sydney, and just concluded a successful run at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” tours major cultural and entertainment venues, museums and institutions in the U.S. and internationally. Discovery Times Square is open seven days a week, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Savings for groups of 10 or more are available with advanced reservation. Once open, the last tickets are sold 60 minutes prior to closing.
