The WB Sweeps Into November
(October 29, 2001 – Burbank, CA) — The WB Network will present a line-up of original episodes of its dramas and comedies, notable guest-stars and a Teen People special during the upcoming November sweeps.
The WB’s top-rated series, “7th HEAVEN,” delivers memorable episodes, highlighted by the permanent homecoming of the Camden’s oldest daughter Mary (Jessica Biel) on Monday, November 12 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET). Another big homecoming on Monday night is the return of Julie Benz to “ANGEL,” as Darla returns to Los Angeles carrying Angel’s (David Boreanaz) child on Monday, November 5 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) and goes into a violent labor on November 19.
The WB’s “New Tuesday” line-up of “GILMORE GIRLS” and “SMALLVILLE” delivers landmark original episodes, including Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) Debutante Ball (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) and Clark’s (Tom Welling) shocking discovery of x-ray powers (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), both on Tuesday, November 6.
Drew Carey headlines the list of guest stars featured on The WB in November, when he appears on the Sunday night comedy “NIKKI” on November 4 (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET) as a cutthroat takeover shark who buys Dwight’s (Nick von Esmarch) wrestling league with plans that don’t actually include the wrestlers.
“FELICITY” also boasts a bevy of guest stars, most notably music legend Lionel Richie on Wednesday, November 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), who has a memorable Atlantic City encounter with Javier (Ian Gomez) and Noel (Scott Foley) in the men’s restroom. Additional “FELICITY” guest stars include a return appearance of John Ritter as Ben’s (Scott Speedman) shiftless father in November 14 and 21 episodes, Lisa Edelstein (“Ally McBeal”) appears on November 14 and 28 as a woman who comes between Felicity (Keri Russell) and Ben, and Dee Wallace Stone (“E.T.” “Cujo”) plays Ben’s mom, Marie Covington, on November 21.
November marks a major turning point on “DAWSON’S CREEK” as the college-aged Dawson (James Van Der Beek) takes the leap into manhood on an unexpectedly romantic weekend with Jen (Michelle Williams) on Wednesday, November 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).
On the supernatural “CHARMED,” Paige (Rose McGowan), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs) travel back to Medieval times on Thursday, November 1, while the Thursday night reality series “POPSTARS 2” brings hopefuls to L.A. for more heartbreaking cuts. Back-to-back episodes of POPSTARS 2 air on Thursday, November 8 and 15 (8:00 & 8:30 p.m. ET).
The WB’s sole primetime special during sweeps is the sizzling TEEN PEOPLE’s “WHAT’S NEXT,” hosted by 17-year-old singing and acting sensation Mandy Moore (“The Princess Diaries,” hit single “Candy”), profiling the brightest young stars of television, film and music on Monday, November 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).
In addition, viewers can expect all-new episodes of their favorite Friday night comedies, “SABRINA,” “THE TEENAGE WITCH” (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET), “MAYBE IT’S ME” (8:30-9:00 p.m. ET), “REBA” (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET) and “RAISING DAD” (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET). Greg Evigan (“B.J. and the Bear,” “Melrose Place”) guest-stars as a handsome plumber who woos Reba (Reba McEntire) on her first post-divorce date on “REBA” on Friday, November 9 and Adrienne Barbeau (“Maude,” “Swamp Thing”) makes a cameo appearance on “SABRINA” on Friday, November 2.
The WB’s new Sunday night comedies “MEN, WOMEN & DOGS” and “OFF CENTRE” offer new romantic entanglements with original episodes throughout November. # # #
