Watertower Music To Release “A Nightmare On Elm Street” Feature Film Soundtrack On April 27, 2010
(April 22, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Burbank, CA The “A Nightmare On Elm Street” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is to be released digitally on April 27 by WaterTower Music. The original score was written by composer Steve Jablonsky (“The Transformers” movies, “Friday the 13th”). Opening nationwide on April 30, “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger terrorizing a group of teenagers in their dreams.
The soundtrack also features an updated version of “Jump Rope,” written by Charles Bernstein for the 1984 “A Nightmare on Elm Street” film and used throughout the film series. The memorable song, familiar to every horror movie fan, is based on the innocent nursery rhyme “One, Two, Buckle My Shoe,” first published in London in 1805 and still used today to teach children to count.
“Jump Rope” (also known as “Freddy's Coming”) features children's voices singing in unison while offering an eerie warning about Freddy Krueger:
"One, Two, Freddy's coming for you
Three, Four, better lock your door
Five, Six, grab your crucifix
Seven, Eight, better stay up late
Nine, Ten, never sleep again …" This re-recorded version of the classic theme has been made available as a ringtone for fans to purchase by texting the word “Nightmare” to 71777. The ringtone will be available through all major carriers. Standard messaging rates apply.
