Warner Home Video Launches Special Web Site - www.bogartfilms.com - For “The Humphrey Bogart Collection”
(March 9, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Home Video (WHV) has launched an exclusive web site, www.bogartfilms.com, dedicated to Humphrey Bogart, America’s greatest movie star. Packed with information about the Warner film legend, the new site coincides with this week’s debut of WHV’s “The Humphrey Bogart Collection,” which re-introduces 19 Bogart classics.
Two unique features of www.bogartfilms.com will be 1) posting historical studio correspondence involving Bogart and 2) inviting participants to share their memories of Bogart and his films (the best will also be posted). Visitors to the site will find detailed information about Bogart’s movies and his career, as well as photographs and trivia.
“The Humphrey Bogart Collection” includes three first-time video releases, 16 more well-known films Bogart made for Warner Bros., plus the “Bogart & Bacall Collection,” a four-volume boxed set showcasing the acting couple’s unique chemistry.
Remastered VHS and DVD Special Editions of “The Maltese Falcon” and “Casablanca” -- both on the American Film Institute’s (AFI)100 Best Films of All Time -- are being made available concurrently with the new collection along with the digitally remastered DVD debuts of “The Big Sleep” and “Key Largo.”
Humphrey Bogart, recently voted the # 1 male screen legend of all time by the AFI, was born 100 years ago in New York City. He appeared in 85 films and was nominated three times for Best Actor Oscars®, winning once for “The African Queen” in 1951.
With operations in 78 international territories -- more than the video division of any other studio -- Warner Home Video commands the largest distribution infrastructure in the global video marketplace. WHV's film library is the largest of any studio, offering top-quality new and vintage titles from the repertoires of Warner Bros. Pictures, Turner Entertainment Company, Castle Rock Entertainment, HBO Home Video and New Line Home Video. # # #
