Warner Home Video Joins Forces With The Harlem Globetrotters In Home Entertainment Distribution Agreement

(September 1, 2005 - Burbank, CA and Phoenix, AZ) – Warner Home Video (WHV) and The Harlem Globetrotters announced the signing of a new home entertainment distribution agreement today. The announcement was jointly made by Jeff Brown, WHV Senior Vice President and General Manager, Non-theatrical Franchise and Mannie Jackson, Owner and Chairman of the Harlem Globetrotters. Under terms of the agreement, WHV will distribute Harlem Globetrotters original programming with the first release entitled "The Harlem Globetrotters: The Team that Changed The World" ($19.98 SRP) hitting the streets on October 18, 2005. Home video release dates for additional Harlem Globetrotters DVDs will be announced on an ongoing basis. All titles will be supported by The Harlem Globetrotters World Tour beginning in December 2005. The 2005-06 North American tour will reach 1.5 million unique fans at over 200 stops across the United States and Canada. Narrated by Chuck D. of the pioneering rap group, “Public Enemy,” "The Harlem Globetrotters: The Team that Changed The World" gives fans an inside look at the world’s most famous and loved basketball team as they travel the globe in the name of equality and democracy. The DVD provides an all-access pass to exclusive interviews (Bill Cosby, Phil Jackson, Henry Kissinger, David Stern, Larry Brown, various NBA players), behind-the-scenes action, and an unforgettable courtside view of the team that changed the world.
