Warner Home Video Conjures Up An Epic Blu-Ray Double Feature “Dungeons & Dragons” And “Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath Of The Dragon God”
(November 22, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons Online (ddo.com), the world’s best free to play massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), Warner Home Video today announced the Blu-ray Disc debut of a special double feature of fantasy favorites, “Dungeons & Dragons” and “Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God.” Available at retail February 15 and packed with tons of extras, including a Dungeons & Dragons Online game points gift card, this sought after collection will bring hours of entertainment to orcs and half-orcs alike. The movies, based on the 35-year old franchise and original game designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson first published in 1974, have sold 2.3 million units on DVD and VHS life-to-date (Nielsen). Orders are due January 18 (SRP $19.98).
Building momentum for the upcoming release, Warner Home Video and Turbine, Inc., the creator and operator of Dungeons & Dragons Online, will be partnering on a number of cross-promotional activities to promote the “Dungeons & Dragons” Blu-ray Double Feature with the online game. “Dungeons & Dragons” will also be available On Demand and for permanent download from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.
Based on the massively popular sword-and-fantasy role-playing game with millions of fans, the original “Dungeons & Dragons” stars Jeremy Irons (“Reversal of Fortune”), Thora Birch (“American Beauty”), Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie franchise), and Justin Whalin (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”). The film was directed by Courtney Solomon, founder of After Dark Films and director of “An American Haunting” starring Donald Sutherland.
