(January 4, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – The sun is shining down on Elmo and friends as Warner Home Video (WHV) and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, release “Elmo and the Rainbow and Other Springtime Stories” on DVD on March 9, 2010. The learning extravaganza features three stories that will teach kids all about rainbows, the changing of the seasons and bumble bees, just in time for spring! Elmo is joined by Baby Bear, Abby, Leela, Gordon and Rosita in his quest to recreate a beautiful rainbow he spotted on Sesame Street. Elmo brings a rainbow of monster friends, Abby tries to make one magically appear and Gordon uses science, all to try to bring the colorful wonder back to the Street. Will they get to see a real rainbow again? The DVD also features a special classic bonus piece featuring the “Cookie Bunny.” “Warner Home Video is excited to take kids on this colorful learning adventure with some of our favorite Sesame Street friends,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President, Family, Animation & Partner Brands Marketing. “Elmo is the perfect character to teach children all about the seasons, just in time for Easter and springtime.” Celebrating its impressive 40th anniversary this season, Sesame Street is the longest-running program in children’s television.
