Warner Home Video Acquires International Distribution Rights To “Kong-King of Atlantis”

(January 31, 2005 - London) - Warner Home Video (WHV) announced today that it has acquired international rights (excluding US) to the animated feature film "Kong–King of Atlantis" from BKN International. The direct-to-DVD film is expected to be released during the holiday season of 2005. “The acquisition of this new animated production is part of our global strategy to increase our release programs with both global and local product,” said Neil McEwan, Managing Director WHV UK. “Family product is one of the fastest growing areas for DVD and we have every confidence that "Kong–King of Atlantis" will become a favorite with families everywhere.” "Kong–King of Atlantis" was produced by BKN International in 2004 and is based on the famous classic adventure/fantasy. The movie was produced by Richard Ungar, formerly President of Marvel Character Group whose previous credits include "X:Men-Evolution" and "Spiderman" - the animated series. “We are delighted to partner with WHV, a leader in DVD sell-through, as children around the world will be able to enjoy the animated King Kong,” said Nicola Andrews, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BKN.
