Warner Explorations Thinks Big With The Release Of Exciting, Science-Themed IMAX Titles
(April 5, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – On June 12, Warner Home Video (WHV) will explore the world of science in a BIG way with the release of several fascinating, science-themed titles, including the IMAX® hits “The Dream Is Alive” and “Blue Planet.” Available for the first time on DVD, these ground-breaking releases offer the extraordinary images and experiences that have become IMAX Corporation’s signature in new, IMAX-branded packaging. Also included in the Science Wave of the Warner Explorations promotion will be high-quality, special interest titles from BBC Video™, HBO and PBS Home Video.
Timed to the June 29 release of Steven Spielberg’s “AI” – one of the most anticipated movie events of the summer – the two IMAX titles will be joined by PBS Home Video’s “Tesla: Master Of Lightning” and HBO Home Video’s “The Best Of Autopsy: A Sex Crimes Special.” “The Dream Is Alive” and “Blue Planet” will each be available day-and-date on VHS for $14.95 SRP and DVD for $19.98 SRP. All other titles are available on VHS for only $14.95 SRP.
Warner Home Video, moreover, is proud to announce an exciting, year-long program that will bring the subjects of military, science, dinosaurs, history and personal growth together under a new umbrella called Warner Explorations. Warner Explorations will feature top titles from leading video brands such as BBC Video™, HBO, IMAX, National Geographic and PBS. Supporting the program with strong marketing and retail initiatives, WHV is committed to maintaining its position as the #1 provider of special interest video content.
In addition to the previous military releases and the current science titles, WHV will continue to explore the world around us with additional promotional waves. On July 3, interest in dinosaur-related home video titles will be satisfied, just as “Jurassic Park 3” roars into theaters. Then, a variety of history titles – available on August 28 – will be on the agenda as millions of students head back to school. Finally, on November 6, consumers will be able to make their New Year’s resolutions with the help of a number of personal development/fitness titles.
