Warner Explorations Steps Back In Time This August
(June 14, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – On August 28, Warner Home Video (WHV) presents Warner Explorations’ History Wave, which features dramatic documentaries about some of the fascinating people and events that have shaped our world. Included in this historical Fourth Wave of the Warner Explorations promotion will be the 2000 Academy Award®-winner for Best Documentary Feature, “Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport,” the breathtaking IMAX® film, “Fires of Kuwait,” the National Geographic titles “Across The Atlantic: Behind the Lindbergh Legend” and “Air Force One” and definitive looks at “Lewis and Clark,” “Frank Lloyd Wright” and “Thomas Jefferson” from acclaimed historian Ken Burns and PBS Home Video.
Warner Explorations’ History Wave will combine sensational event documentaries with exciting special interest titles from BBC Home Video, HBO Home Video, IMAX, National Geographic and PBS Home Video. “Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport” will be available on VHS for $19.98 SRP ($13.95 MAP) and on a loaded DVD for $24.98 SRP ($19.95 MAP). The Ken Burns documentaries will be available for the first time ever on DVD for $29.98 SRP, and are available on VHS for a limited time with a temporary discount at $24.98 each. “Fires of Kuwait” will be available on VHS for $14.95 SRP ($9.95 MAP) and on DVD for $19.98 SRP ($14.95 MAP). All other titles in the History Wave will be available on VHS only, priced at $14.95 SRP (with the exception of “Secrets of the Titanic,” which will also be available on DVD for the new, low price of $19.98 SRP). Single unit order due date is July 31; merchandiser order due date is July 24.
Other exciting history titles to be promoted and re-priced (all at $14.95 SRP) on August 28 include “Who Was Moses?,” from BBC Home Video, “Schindler,” from HBO Home Video, “Secrets of Titanic: Collector’s Edition” (also available on DVD at a new, $19.98 SRP), “Mysteries of Egypt” and “Egypt: Secrets of the Pharaohs” from National Geographic.
