Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour Unveils New Picture Car Museum
(July 30, 2009 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour guests will now have the opportunity to see firsthand popular transportation vehicles at the new 6,300-square-foot Picture Car Museum, an elegant showroom filled with memorable automobiles featured in some of Warner Bros.’ most famous and successful films and television series. This collection of cars cannot be seen any other place in the world than on Warner Bros.’ exclusive VIP Tour.
The new Picture Car Museum showcases the Studio’s prized collection of famous automotive “stars.” Tour guests will come within inches of famed show cars, previously seen only by Studio insiders, including the following:
• The Tumbler and Batpod from the 2008 blockbuster “The Dark Knight”
• The Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman” staring Michael Keaton
• The flying Ford Anglia from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” the second installment from the most successful film franchise in history
• The Ford Gran Torino from the acclaimed film “Gran Torino,” directed by Clint Eastwood
• Bo and Luke Duke’s General Lee from “The Dukes of Hazzard”
• The Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine
• 1965 Lincoln Continental from the Oscar-winning “The Matrix” films
• Maxwell Smart’s 1965 Sunbeam Tiger from the motion picture “Get Smart” Depending on production needs, the picture cars may be rotated in and out of the Museum’s showroom. Danny Kahn, Director of the Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour, has been anticipating the Picture Car Museum for quite some time and is confident it will be a success with tour goers. “We continually look for ways to enhance our guests’ experience on the VIP Tour and are certain they will enjoy the new Picture Car Museum,” said Kahn. “These vehicles are not only an important part of film and television history but are an exciting part of Warner Bros. history as well.” The Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour transports guests on a unique journey, immersing them in today’s most popular movies and television shows. The Studio itself sits on 110 acres in the heart of Burbank, California and features 30 working soundstages on the front lot and a number of versatile outdoor backlot sets seen in countless productions. Because no two tours are the same, this intimate tour represents an extraordinary opportunity for guests to explore the inner workings of filming and production at the Studio with visits to famous sets, crafts shops—from the costume department and scenic art to property and special effects—and the Warner Bros. Museum, Hollywood’s only studio museum. Currently, the Warner Bros. Museum features two exhibits—one celebrating Warner Bros. film and television, and the other a collection of items from the Harry Potter films, including costumes and props from the most recent box office hit “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” The Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour operates Monday through Friday with tours departing every 20 minutes between 8:20 a.m. and 4 p.m. Extended hours are offered in the spring and summer. The price is $45 per person. For a more in-depth studio tour experience, Deluxe VIP Tours are offered daily at 10:20 a.m. for $195 per person. Children under eight years of age are not permitted.
