Warner Bros. (South), Inc. To Represent Warner Bros. Consumer Products In Brazil

(December 13, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Demonstrating its continued commitment to the Latin American marketplace, Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that Warner Bros. (South), Inc. will represent the company’s licensing interests in Brazil. Marcus Macedo has been named to head the staff on behalf of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, which will begin official operations on January 1, 2002. The announcement was made by Mark Matheny, Executive Vice President, International for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Warner Bros. (South), Inc. will service Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ local and regional licensees based in Brazil and provide support for the company’s Brazilian retail partners. Reporting to Warner Bros. Consumer Products headquarters in Burbank, California, the office will also work closely with other AOL Time Warner offices based in Brazil, such as AOL, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Home Video, Warner Music International and Cartoon Network. “We are extremely pleased to have Warner Bros. staff working to build our brands in Brazil,” said Matheny. “This presents exciting new opportunities for growth in Latin America while positioning Warner Bros. Additionally, Macedo will manage personnel, identify and secure product placement opportunities, track licensee contracts and oversee the brand assurance process. In order to provide licensees and retailers in Brazil with the same advantage as major worldwide partners, the execution of contracts and final commercial aspects will continue to be conducted in the United States by Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Prior to joining the company, Macedo served as General Manager for Atech Security Technologies, a world leader in the development and marketing of brand and document protection systems.
