Warner Bros. Pictures Pays Tribute To Local “Super Heroes” With Special “Superman Returns” Screenings In Honor Of Father’s Day

(June 16, 2006 - Burbank,CA) – Recognizing that every dad is a Super Hero to his children, Warner Bros. Pictures is hosting special Father’s Day events in anticipation of the Wednesday, June 28, release of "Superman Returns," the new epic action adventure about the greatest Super Hero of them all. • On Sunday, June 18, "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh, accompanied by his father, Ron Routh, will make a special appearance at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego, California, where Brandon will host an advance screening of the film, primarily for kids whose own fathers are serving overseas. In honor of Father’s Day, Warner Bros. Pictures has also arranged for computers to be set up so the kids can send personalized Father’s Day E-Cards to their own Super Hero fathers who are serving in Iraq and other overseas deployments. While at Miramar, Brandon Routh will also be announcing details of the overall Operation Super Hero. • In 50 markets nationwide, local groups and organizations—including Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, community centers, libraries and schools—are hosting advance Father’s Day screenings of "Superman Returns" on June 18. The special Father’s Day screenings will give the children a rare opportunity to treat their “Super Dads” to a movie, with a surprise gift to top off the day: All of the dads will also receive a special edition Superman t-shirt.
