Warner Bros. Pictures International Marketing Department Promotes Samantha Reid, Blair Rich And Lance Volland To Vice President

(April 29, 2003 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Pictures International has announced three promotions in its Marketing Department, including the elevation of Samantha Reid to Vice President, Marketing, Creative Advertising and Production; Blair Rich being named Vice President, Marketing and Creative Advertising; and Lance Volland, Vice President, Publicity. The promotions were announced today by Sue Kroll, President, Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures International. Reid and Rich report directly to Kroll, while Volland will continue reporting to Mic Kramer, Senior Vice President, Publicity, Warner Bros. Pictures International. All the executives are based in Burbank, CA. “Samantha, Blair and Lance are all vital members of our marketing team. With the exciting slate of films Warner Bros. Pictures has planned for international release the rest of this year and beyond, their roles are all increasingly valuable to assuring our continued success overseas,” said Kroll. “It is equally important to note that each of these promotions is very well-deserved. All three of these individuals work incredibly hard and are outstanding at what they do.” In her role as Vice President, Marketing, Creative Advertising and Production, Reid is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of international marketing campaigns and strategies for the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film release slate, which has included “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Eight Legged Freaks,” and “Analyze That.” She is also supervising campaigns for upcoming international releases of “The Matrix Reloaded,” “The Matrix Revolutions,” and “Looney Tunes: Back in Action.” Reid joined Warner Bros. Pictures in January 1997, most recently serving as Director, International Marketing, where she worked on campaigns for “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” “Exorcist: The Beginning,” “Cats & Dogs,” “Swordfish,” and “The Matrix.” As Vice President, Marketing and Creative Advertising, Rich will continue her oversight of the creative development and implementation of international marketing campaigns and strategies for film releases from Warner Bros. Pictures. She is involved in marketing current and upcoming releases that include “Matchstick Men,” “The Big Bounce,” “The Last Samurai,” “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” and “Polar Express.” Rich joined Warner Bros. Pictures’ International Marketing Department in November 1997, and has participated in campaigns for numerous films including “Dreamcatcher,” “Two Weeks Notice,” “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” and “A.I. Artificial Intelligence.” As Vice President, Publicity, Volland is responsible for supervising all publicity activities for Warner Bros. Pictures International, including trade publicity, press materials and junkets, film festivals, media promotions and tie-ins, publicity strategies and directives to all overseas offices, management of the international publicity staff and participation in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association/Golden Globe Awards and the British Academy of Film and Television/BAFTA Golden Mask Awards. Volland joined Warner Bros. Pictures in 1998, most recently serving as Executive Director, International Publicity, where he oversaw campaigns for films including “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” “The Matrix,” and “The Perfect Storm.” Prior to Warner Bros. Pictures, Volland was Director of the International Division at Rogers & Cowan, where he handled international publicity efforts for films including “Michael,” “The Game,” “Mortal Kombat,” “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” and “Leaving Las Vegas.”
