Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire” Crosses $600 Million Mark

(February 23, 2006 - Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Pictures’ acclaimed box office phenomenon "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has crossed the $600 million mark in international receipts, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time. The announcement was made today by Sue Kroll and Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, Warner Bros. Pictures International’s President of Marketing and President of Distribution, respectively. Since its release in late November of last year, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has garnered record cumulative grosses in territories including Japan ($91M), the United Kingdom ($84M), Germany ($62M), France ($55M), Australia ($26M), Spain ($23M), and Mexico ($21M). “We’re incredibly proud of this film and its spectacular showing all over the world,” Kwan-Rubinek said. “The international team and our territory offices worked hard to maximize its potential in every country, and I congratulate them on these fantastic results.” “Mike Newell captured the breadth and scope of this story, which allowed us to create a truly segmented marketing campaign that appealed to moviegoers of all ages and walks of life,” Kroll added. “Our aggressive campaign showcased the film’s striking imagery and thematic complexity while highlighting the action, humor and teen issues that captured the imaginations of teens and moviegoers experiencing Harry Potter for the first time.
