Warner Bros. Online, Warner Bros. Television And netscape.com Announce “The Drew Carey Show” Who’s Your Mimi? Contest

(May 22, 2001 – Mountain View, CA) - Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Online and Netscape Communications today announced the Who’s Your Mimi Contest? giving “THE DREW CAREY SHOW” fans a chance to meet their favorite stars and share a moment with them in the limelight. The contest, which is in conjunction with the May 23 one-hour season finale (ABC 9:00pm-10:00pm PT/ET) runs through May 30, 2001. Available via the Netscape.com homepage (www.Netscape.com), or the Warner Bros. Online homepage (www.warnerbros.com), the Who’s Your Mimi? Contest is based on the hate/hate relationship of two of the funniest and most beloved television characters on the air today-Drew Carey and Mimi Bobeck-Carey (series regular Kathy Kinney) from ABC’s hit comedy series, “THE DREW CAREY SHOW.” In the series, Drew portrays the long-suffering assistant director of personnel at the fictional Winfred-Lauder department store who is constantly being berated and tormented by his co-worker/sister-in-law Mimi. In the season’s one-hour May 23 finale, Drew gets promoted, which wickedly inspires Mimi to devise a twisted plan to have Drew thinking he’s going insane. The episode ends in a psychological (literally) cliffhanger that will have fans wondering all summer long if Mimi finally “got” Drew. The series’ producers are planning to continue this storyline at the beginning of the show’s seventh season this Fall. Who’s Your Mimi? Contest participants are asked to submit a brief humorously written paragraph about a funny or mischievous work experience that they have had with their office nemesis. All entries will be reviewed by the staff of “THE DREW CAREY SHOW” with the winning entry to be chosen on the basis of how closely the incident reflects something that Mimi might do to her co-workers on the show. Contest information is available at Netscape.com’s “Fun” and “Entertainment” tabs and at Warner Bros. Online’s “Television” tab. The contest winner and guest will be flown roundtrip to Los Angeles, provided with two night’s hotel accommodations, taken on a VIP tour of the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank and given the opportunity to perform in a non-speaking, walk-on role sometime during the seventh season of “THE DREW CAREY SHOW.” The winner may even get the chance to have his or her office “Mimi” chewed out by Mr. Wick (series regular Craig Ferguson) over the phone, if the co-worker agrees to participate. If so, the co-worker will receive a signed script from “THE DREW CAREY SHOW,” a show T-shirt, show coffee mug and hat. Produced by Mohawk Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, “THE DREW CAREY SHOW” airs Wednesdays 9:00-9:30pm (ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. Bruce Helford, Drew Carey, Robert Borden (episodes 1-13), Holly Hester (episodes 14-26) and Deborah Oppenheimer are executive producers. The series was created by Bruce Helford and Drew Carey.
