Warner Bros. International Television Distribution Signs Pay Television Deal With Germany’s Premiere
(October 15, 2002 – Munich, Germany & Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) has signed a pay-per-view and pay television deal with Germany’s Premiere, it was announced today by Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International, and George Kofler, CEO, Premiere.
The package deal, which was negotiated by WBITD by Simon D. Kenny, Senior Vice President, Europe, and Sylvia Rothblum, Managing Director, German-Speaking Territories, WBITD and Premiere’s Managing Director Hans Seger, calls for the pay-per-view rights to a package of films, including “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” “The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring,” “Training Day,” “Swordfish,” “Rush Hour 2,” “Der Kleine Eisbär” (“The Little Polar Bear”), and “Cats and Dogs” as well as the pay television rights to a selection of films that include “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Swordfish,” “Training Day,” and “Miss Congeniality.”
