Warner Bros. International Television Distribution Signs Long-Term Free Television Output Deal With Televisa
(December 6, 2005 – Burbank, CA & Mexico City) – Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) has signed a long-term free television output deal with Mexico’s largest commercial television broadcaster Grupo Televisa, it was announced today by Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television and Alberto Ciurana, Televisa’s VP of Programming.
The deal, which was negotiated on behalf of WBITD by John Garcia, Vice President & General Manager, Latin America, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, covers the free television rights to Warner Bros.’ feature film output (including such films as “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Matrix Reloaded,” “Batman Begins,” “Troy” and “Scooby Doo,” to name a few), the renewal of television series currently under license (including “ER,” “Cold Case,” “Without a Trace,” “Smallville,” “Nip/Tuck,” “The O.C.” and “One Tree Hill,” to name a few), new series for Televisa (including “Sopranos,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Supernatural” and “War at Home,” among others), and animated series (including “Teen Titans,” “The Batman,” “Justice League Unlimited,” “What New Scooby Doo,” “Mucha Lucha,” “Baby Looney Tunes,” “Powerpuff Girls” and “Samurai Jack.” The product will air on Televisa’s networks.
“We’ve long had a relationship with WB and we look forward to entertain our audiences with such great product and with this long term agreement in place we both can focus on expanding our relationship in other venues” said Alberto Ciurana.

International Television Distribution is one of the world's largest distributors of feature films, television programs and animation to the international television marketplace (broadcast, pay cable, basic cable, satellite, pay-per-view, video-on-demand, digital platforms, etc.).
