Warner Bros. Entertainment Announces Its Senior Team For Its Global Brand Management Group

(March 29, 2005 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Entertainment’s Global Brand Management has assembled its team of senior executives with Irika Slavin, Sandy Yi and Lisa St. Amand joining Amber Fredman as Vice Presidents, Global Brand Management, Warner Bros. Entertainment, it was announced today by Diane Nelson, Executive Vice President, Global Brand Management, Warner Bros. Entertainment. In their new posts, the four support Warner Bros. Global Brand Management’s directive to work with the Company’s in-place marketing teams to enhance and enrich the Studio’s overall event and brand strategies, working as a broad-spectrum resource, collaborating and partnering cross-divisionally to optimize a property’s windows throughout its life. Based in Burbank, the vice presidents report directly to Nelson. “Our key brands and core properties are the Studio’s most valuable, as well as long-term and renewable assets,” said Nelson. “It is a testament, not only of our belief in Amber, Irika, Lisa and Sandy, but also of their abilities and talents, that we put the stewardship of these assets in their hands. Each of these women is a terrific executive who has already made great contributions to our company. Their knowledge, understanding and varied, diverse backgrounds will enable our group to provide numerous perspectives and insights that will benefit and enrich each of the businesses here at Warner Bros.” Fredman has served in a similar capacity on the divisional level since joining Warner Bros. Pictures where she worked closely with Nelson on the Harry Potter franchise. On this new corporate team, Fredman will continue to focus on the Studio’s Harry Potter (with St. Amand) and adds Charlie and the Chocolate Factory properties as well as the upcoming film "Corpse Bride." She will also assume oversight of the Looney Tunes brand starting from this point on. Fredman joined Warner Bros. Pictures in March 2002 as director, and was promoted to vice president, theatrical marketing in November 2003. Prior to Warner Bros. Pictures, Fredman served as senior director, new business development, at Equity Marketing on the Burger King account; as director of marketing for athletic sportswear company Puma North America; and in new business development for BBDO Worldwide. Fredman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in English. Slavin also served in a similar role for the company managing the Matrix franchise worldwide alongside Nelson at Warner Bros. Pictures. In this new corporate role, she is being promoted to Vice President and now oversees all brand activity related to the upcoming features "Batman Begins" and "V for Vendetta" as well as the Company’s DC Comics branding initiative. Prior to this promotion, Slavin served as director, theatrical marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures, where she also served as a senior publicist before her promotion to director. Before that, Slavin held publicity positions at Fine Line Features and Dreamworks, worked for the AD team of HBO’s Go Flight Productions, and started her professional career in Orlando at the Disney Institute as a media liaison for the hotel property. Slavin holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass media from Rutgers University. St. Amand is charged with supervising the brand management for the Harry Potter (with Fredman), "Polar Express" and "Happy Feet" franchises. St. Amand joins the Studio after serving as an independent marketing consultant for a number of entertainment clients including Warner Bros. Pictures on the first three Harry Potter films, Buena Vista Pictures, New Line Cinema and Dreamworks. Additionally, she consulted for several non-profit organizations including The Macy’s/American Express Passport Event, The Art Trust: Genesis Awards and The Starbright Foundation. St. Amand has also been a senior publicist at Warner Bros. Pictures, director of field operations at MGM and an account executive at Rogers & Cowan Public Relations. She graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a business emphasis. Yi assumes brand responsibility for the Studio's Superman franchise. She joined the Global Brand Management team from Warner Bros. Consumer Products, where she most recently served as vice president of marketing, overseeing brand marketing efforts for the Harry Potter franchise as well as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory worldwide. Yi joined Warner Bros. Consumer Products as director of marketing, responsible for global strategy of the DC Comics properties including Batman and Superman. Prior to Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Yi served as the director of marketing and acquisitions at Infiniss LTD, a licensing agency focusing on entertainment brands for kids and families, launching properties such as Sesame Street, Power Rangers as well as literary-based brands for markets in Asia. Yi holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Smith College.
