Warner Bros. Consumer Products Partners With Marc Ecko To Create Designer Apparel Featuring New Line Cinema’s Classic Horror Properties
(August 28, 2009 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Marc Ecko have joined forces to announce a killer partnership. The renowned global fashion designer will launch an exclusive, co-branded line of T-shirts and hoodies, inspired by New Line Cinema’s cult classic, “Friday the 13th” available in October 2009 and “A Nightmare on Elm Street” to follow in 2010. The line will be an extension to Ecko Unltd's limited-edition clothing collection, the Black Rhino Exhibit.
Paying homage to these pop-idols of fright, this wearable anthology will include a collectible Jason Voorhees button-up fleece hoodie inspired by the essence of his torn, worn and ragged jacket. The hood converts into a full face zip rendition of his infamous hockey mask with real leather straps.
"I remember sleeping with the lights on for a week because I thought Jason was out to get me, and thanks to that mask, I still get creeped out when I watch a hockey game from the 80's on ESPN Classic,” said Marc Ecko, Founder of Marc Ecko Enterprises.
“Warner Bros. Consumer Products is excited to partner with a brand that is so in tune with today’s global youth culture,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Ecko Unltd. has a loyal consumer following and now fans of all ages will have access to the entertainment industry’s most notorious horror films through the brand’s cutting-edge clothing.”
Ecko Unltd.’s “Friday the 13th” gear will be available to consumers at Ecko Unltd. stores, www.shopecko.com and specialty stores, as well as on www.wbshop.com, beginning in October 2009. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” merchandise will be available in the same locations in 2010.
