Three pint-sized crime fighters, “The Powerpuff Girls” has turned into an international licensing phenomenon, winning the top three awards at the Licensing Show 2001 International including, overall Best License of the Year, Best Entertainment License of the Year and Best Entertainment Character License of the Year. Packing a powerful punch, the Emmy Award-winning series is Cartoon Network’s #1 original series with girls 2-11, girls 6-11 and girls 9-11 in the Toonami Block. They are not planning to stop for a nap in 2003 with new episodes premiering and with the show scheduled to air 365 days on Cartoon Network.
“Samurai Jack” debuted on Cartoon Network on August 10, 2001 with over 32 million people from ages two and older tuning in since its premiere. Supported by the biggest program launch in Cartoon Network’s history, the show has an additional 52 action packed episodes green-lit.
Equity partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products in 1998 when the company was awarded the master toy licensing agreement for Scooby-Doo in the United States and Canada. Through a separate agreement they were also granted manufacturing and distribution rights for Scooby-Doo toys related to the live-action feature film and the classic “Scooby-Doo” television series in Europe and Latin America.
One of the most well known animated icons of all time, Scooby-Doo’s popularity has crossed age and gender boundaries like no other cartoon character. Equity’s Scooby-Doo product line continues to be a top seller at retail and following on the heels of the successful line-up of merchandise based on this past summer’s hit film, the company is set to fully support the brand in 2003.
Equity will be introducing a full-line of toys based on “The Powerpuff Girls,” “Samurai Jack” and “Scooby-Doo” at Toy Fair 2003.
