Warner Bros. Consumer Products Named Master Worldwide Licensee For The “Goal!” Trilogy Of Football Films

(August 17, 2005 - Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that they are partnering with Milkshake Productions and Goal Ltd., to represent the “Goal!” trilogy of football films as their worldwide master licensee. Known as soccer in the United States, international Football is considered the most popular global sport. The deal gives Warner Bros. Consumer Products merchandise licensing rights for the first two films in the trilogy, as well as an option for the third. Supported by the leading football governing bodies, European Clubs and several premiere brands, the film has broad appeal for filmgoers of all ages, not just football fans. It features quality cinematography, authentic football action and great performances from the likes of Kuno Becker, Anna Friel and Alessandro Nivola. “Goal!” will also feature cameos from some of the biggest football stars in the world including: David Beckham, Kieron Dyer, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez, Patrick Kluivert and Alan Shearer. The first movie launches in the UK on September 30, 2005 and is planned for a March 2006 release in the U.S. The worldwide premiere is set for September 13, 2005 in London. The second movie is due for release at the end of May 2006 just before FIFA World Cup 2006 commences. “‘Goal!’ is a terrific fit in our growing portfolio of leading football properties,” said Jordan Sollitto, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and International Licensing, Warner Bros. Every dream has a beginning'” is intended as the first chapter in a trilogy about a young Latino boy named Santiago Munez who becomes an international football star. Like millions of kids around the world, Santiago harbors the unbelievable dream of being a professional footballer. However, living in the Barrios section of East Los Angeles, he is many miles and a lifetime away from ever being able to make that dream a reality. Until, one day an extraordinary turn of events has him trying out for the English FA Premier league team, Newcastle United. The second film in the trilogy picks up with Santiago nearly becoming the superstar he’s always dreamed of being -- he is transferred to one of the world’s top clubs, Real Madrid.
