Warner Bros. Consumer Products Launches Licensing Program For “¡Mucha Lucha!” In 2003 - 2004

(October 16, 2003 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products today announced a broad licensing program across key categories in support of the hugely popular Warner Bros. Animation series “¡Mucha Lucha!” on Kids’ WB! A wide array of licensed creative products are being developed in apparel, toys, interactive games, publishing, party goods, stationery and accessories. The first video game will hit shelves in Holiday 2003 with select toys and apparel following in Spring 2004 and a main launch of all products in Fall 2004. “¡Mucha Lucha!” has wrestled its way into the 2003-2004 season, ranking as the #1 broadcast series for Kids 2-11 and the #2 program among all competition for Boys 2-11 on Saturday, September 20. Expanding the “¡Mucha Lucha!” experience, Warner Bros. Consumer Products has teamed with the following active licensees as more are signing on; JAKKS Pacific, Thermos, Trends International, American Marketing Enterprises (AME), Buster Brown, Harper Collins, Crown Crafts, Dan River, Mohawk, Ubisoft, Berkshire Fashions, Exquisite Apparel, IMT Accessories, Bakery Crafts and Cap Candy. “The creative flair of ‘¡Mucha Lucha!’ lends itself as a strong property for which dynamic and outrageously fun products can be developed,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President Domestic Licensing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “With evident broad appeal and humor, ‘¡Mucha Lucha!,’ which airs on the number 1 kids’ broadcaster Kids’ WB!, has attracted strong licensees and promotional partners, while offering a great opportunity to work closely with Warner Bros. Animation.” JAKKS Pacific has recently been named the master toy licensee and is developing a toy line to hit shelves in Spring 2004. For Holiday 2003, Ubisoft Entertainment is releasing the first interactive game for the property, “¡Mucha Lucha!: Mascaritas of the Lost Code” on Game Boy Advance. Ubisoft will also release an all new ¡Mucha Lucha! video game on Playstation 2 in December 2004.
