Warner Bros. Consumer Products Introduces Brand New Merchandise Inspired By DC Comics’ Superman And Batman At The International Toy Fair In Nuremberg
(February 7, 2006 - Hamburg) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) unleashed an incredible lineup of licensed toys and products inspired by DC Comics’ Superman and Batman franchises at the annual International Nuremberg Toy Fair which took place from February 2-7.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products leaped into Toy Fair 2006 with one of the World’s Greatest Super Heroes, Superman. The Man of Steel is back and he is better than ever. Warner Bros. Consumer Products and its partners will present a licensing program that will include new lines of toys and electronics inspired by this summer’s upcoming theatrical release from Warner Bros. Pictures’ "Superman Returns," as well as the classic Superman. The new product lines will incorporate the classic S-Shield as well, a universally recognized iconic symbol, which has become a statement of strength and style.
Mattel, Inc. is the global master toy partner for the property. The company developed the most comprehensive toy program ever created for the franchise, including action figures, accessories, outdoor toys, role-play items and collector dolls. Reaching beyond the traditional action figure aisle, this product line offers truly unique and exciting ways to relive key moments of the "Superman Returns" film.
The "Superman Returns" 10-Inch Figure is a roto-cast figure, which is lightweight and easily transforms from a heroic position to an iconic flying pose. The figure measures more than 13 inches long when in flight mode.
Another highlight for Superman fans is the "Superman Returns" Hyperposable Figure. It has 35 points of articulation for extra poseability. The highly detailed sculpt and versatility allows kids to re-enact their favorite scenes from the film as they place Superman in various poses.
The "Superman Returns" Punch ‘N Crunch Gloves gives kids the feeling of the strength, crunching and punching power of the Man of Steel. There are two molded forearm pieces with fabric half-glove and palm sensors. A special sensor in one glove lets kids bend the unbreakable toy “steel” bar to the sound effects of real metal crunching noises.
Mattel, Inc. will also launch the Superman Inflato-Suit. This suit lets kids imagine that they have the strength, power and even the physique of the Man of Steel. A dedicated battery-operated fan transforms kids into their favorite Super Hero and keeps the suit full of air.
Also introducing their new product lineup for the first time at Toy Fair is Oregon Scientific (Germany) GmbH. The Superman educational computer Duo SL 32 is a must-have for all little Superman fans. The computer can only be opened via a built-in movement sensor. With this computer, kids from the age of five and upwards can improve their fine motor skills and learn German and English through play. The contents have been pedagogically tested and offer an introduction to spelling, vocabulary and math. It offers a selection of music and games and also helps to train children’s memories and the understanding of logical coherences as well. The computer contains 60 different learning activities to choose from and will impress Superman fans with cool animations on its LCD display.
Kids of three years and upward can live out their urge to discover new things with a Superman Junior Laptop. This is the perfect computer for little Super Heroes and conveys an understanding of technology to them in a playful way. With this fancy gadget, learning will become one great adventure. It has especially large keys to assist the kids in discovering eight exciting learning acitivities. The cool animations on the display and a great sound system make sure that it never gets boring.

For decades, DC Comics’ Batman has entertained legions of fans around the globe through comic books, television shows, made-for-video releases, feature films and merchandise making Batman one of the world’s most popular Super Heroes and one of the largest and celebrated franchises the world over.
Recently Warner Bros. Consumer Products awarded the LEGO Group the construction toy license for Batman. The agreement includes the rights to develop and market construction toys based on the classic Batman brand, inspired by the pages of the comic books; Warner Bros. Animation’s hit television series, "The Batman"; and Warner Bros. Pictures’ blockbuster feature film, "Batman Begins," which debuted in theaters this past summer, and any related theatrical releases or television programs that are produced during the period of this deal.
Beginning in April 2006, LEGO Group will introduce six new Batman products featuring constructible play sets with strong vehicle focus, cool functionality, gadgets and a library of collectible mini-figures.
Among many others, additional licensees are Cards Inc. and Halsaal Wheeled which will produce toys and gift ranges for both the Batman and Superman properties.
