Warner Bros. Consumer Products Interactive Licensees Unveil Unparalleled Scope Of Properties At E3 2001
(May 17, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that its interactive entertainment licensees will display a breadth of properties, ranging from
Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and Batman to Scooby-Doo and The Powerpuff Girls, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from May 17 through May 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“As E3 is the most important interactive videogame and online gaming conference of the year, it is the perfect opportunity for Warner Bros. Consumer Products to exhibit the scope and quality of our exciting brands through our interactive licensees,” said Michael Harkavy, Vice President, Publishing, Kids’ WB! Consumer Products. “From the irrepressible Bugs Bunny, to the Caped Crusader, Batman, the pint-sized heroes The Powerpuff Girls, to the magical Harry Potter, our licensees continue to successfully create engaging video games based on our most celebrated entertainment properties and we look forward to showcasing them at this year’s E3.”
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment licensees showcasing at E3 include:
Bay Area Multimedia (BAM) will preview The Powerpuff Girls on next-generation platforms, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64 and for PC CD-ROM launching Holiday 2001. Additionally, they will highlight a Dexter’s Laboratory game entitled “Deesaster Strikes,” launching on Game Boy Advance and two separate games launching on PlayStation 1 and PC CD-ROM, respectively, for Holiday 2001.
Conspiracy Entertainment will preview their upcoming Tiny Toon Adventures title:
“Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Stackers” and “The Flintstones: Bedlam in Bedrock” on Game Boy Advance, both launching Holiday 2001. “Buster Saves the Day” and “Dizzy’s Candy Quest” for the Game Boy Color will launch Summer 2001. Additionally, Tiny Toon Adventures, The Flintstones and Animaniacs titles are planned for next-generation platforms.
Electronic Arts will debut “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” on multiple platforms including PlayStation, PC, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. All four games are slated for release under the EA GAMES brand in Fall 2001.
Infogrames will debut the first Looney Tunes Xbox title, “Loons – The Fight For Fame” launching in Spring 2002 and “Looney Tunes Sheep Raider” on PlayStation 1, launching in Spring 2001. Additionally, Infogrames will give a sneak peek at several cutting-edge Superman video games in development for release in 2002. These new Superman interactive games will be brought to life like never before on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advance and Gamecube.
Kemco will preview “Tweety & The Magic Gems” on the Game Boy Advance, launching in Summer 2001.
Lego Media will debut “Harry Potter – Lego Creator: Harry Potter” on PC CD-ROM, launching in October 2001.
Light and Shadow Production (LSP) will debut “Gremlins: Unleashed!” on Game Boy Color, launching in late Spring, early Summer 2001 and a Gremlins title on Game Boy Advance, launching in Fall 2001.
Microsoft will preview a series of games based on Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated film “A.I.” for the PC and Microsoft’s video game system Xbox. Slated for release on June 29, “A.I.,” which stands for “artificial intelligence,” is presented by Warner Bros. Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures. The games will include a PC version called “A.I. Puzzler,” launching in Summer 2001 and three action-packed adventure games for Xbox, two of which are expected for release in Fall 2001.
NewKidCo will debut two new Tom and Jerry titles, “Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring” for Game Boy Advance, launching in October 2001 and “Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers” for PlayStation 2, launching in March 2002.
THQ will showcase “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase,” a tie in game to the Warner Home Video release, on PlayStation 1 and Game Boy Advance, launching in October 2001.
The Learning Company (TLC) will exhibit “Scooby-Doo: Jinx at the Sphinx” on PC
CD-ROM, launching in Fall 2001.
Ubi Soft will debut the cutting-edge “Batman: Vengeance” title for the PlayStation 2 and
Game Boy Advance, both launching in September 2001. The game will also be released on the Xbox in Winter 2002 and on the Gamecube in Spring 2002.
