Warner Bros. Consumer Products Expands Master Licensee Agreement With VOOZ Co., Ltd. For “Pucca”

(May 28, 2009 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) announced today that its master licensee agreement with VOOZ Co., Ltd. (VOOZ) for the popular character PUCCA will expand to North America and Mexico. As a result, WBCP now holds the master license for the PUCCA brand in the United States, Canada and Mexico, in addition to its previously existing representation in Brazil. “We have experienced enormous success globally. I believe PUCCA will be even more successful in North America, as we formed a partnership with a globally renowned and successful company Warner Bros. Consumer Products,” said Jong Hoon Shin, Executive Director for VOOZ. The PUCCA product line is uniquely based on the highly successful Flash-animated shorts on the Internet created by VOOZ, a South Korean company. Merchandise that soon followed became an instant hit around the globe and is now available to consumers in the United States, Canada and Mexico through WBCP licensees. The product categories include apparel, accessories, bags, home goods and stationery and paper goods, primarily for fashion-forward young adults, juniors and tweens. “PUCCA has a strong following, not only in the United States, but internationally, and we are thrilled to work with such a strong entertainment property,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Our track record of success with our own properties and partners, matched with the success our international team has enjoyed with PUCCA in Brazil, makes this a perfect opportunity to expand our relationship with VOOZ and PUCCA.” Originally introduced online, “PUCCA,” debuted as a series of Flash-animated shorts produced by VOOZ, and fast became a true cultural phenomenon. Known for its "silent comedy" factor, creating humor with almost no spoken words and the universal theme of love, the shorts revolve around 10-year-old PUCCA, the daughter of a Chinese restaurant owner in Korea, who is in love with Garu, a 12-year-old warrior. PUCCA 's dedicated online following led to its television debut in the U.S. “PUCCA has been a tremendous success for us in Brazilian retail marketplace. It fits perfectly into our entertainment licensing portfolio and provides a unique opportunity for licensees and retailers,” added Jordan Sollitto, Executive Vice President, New Initiatives and International Licensing. “As we look at the Latin America marketplace, expansion into Mexico is a strategic opportunity to grow the business.” “The existing stable of licensees is already creating consumer demand for PUCCA products at retail. As we expand our representation of this great entertainment property into North America and Mexico, we are seeking innovative licensing partners to broaden our product offering,” added McTier.
