Warner Bros. Consumer Products Appoints Bandai America Master Toy Partner For Warner Bros. Animation’s Television Series, Firehouse Tales

(September 22, 2005 - Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that they have awarded Bandai America Incorporated the master toy license, in the U.S. and Canada, on behalf of Warner Bros. Animation’s newest television series, "Firehouse Tales," which premiered August 22, 2005 as part of Cartoon Network’s new preschool block, TICKLE U. TICKLE U runs Monday-Friday from 9:00am-11:00am. Bandai America, a subsidiary of the world’s third largest toy company, Bandai Co. Ltd., will create a complete product line that captures all the fun and action of this new comedy-adventure show that tells a story about friendship and teamwork. The exciting new "Firehouse Tales" toy line from Bandai America, launching in Spring 2006, will perfectly depict the key characters in the show and their charming and unique personalities. The line will include several sizes of vehicles, playsets, construction, bath toys and more that are true to the spirit of the property. It will inspire preschoolers to explore the quaint, picturesque town of Green Meadows with the brave, optimistic fire trucks-in-training from the show. In addition to focusing on the main three junior fire trucks – Red, Petrol, and Crabby, the toy line will feature a wide array of other vehicles from the show, including Stinky, the garbage truck; Spinner, the helicopter; Scoop, the fire plane; Milkie, the ice cream truck; and many others. In the initial line of toys, the eyes move side to side and the mouths open and close when the vehicles roll along. In the second wave of toys being launched, Bandai America will add sound, lights, music and other features to the vehicles to distinguish each character’s personality. “'Firehouse Tales' is one of our most promising new animated television series. We have high hopes that the unique and charming show will appeal to young children with its captivating spirit of friendship and adventure,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President, Domestic Licensing, Global Toys, Publishing and Themed Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “We are looking forward to delivering a toy line that pairs the ingenuity of our partner, Bandai, with the delightful nature of this new series.” "We are thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on such an exciting new property. 'Firehouse Tales' is one of the most highly anticipated television shows airing on Cartoon Network’s new preschool block, and we are looking forward to translating the series into toys that inspire the play and imagination of young kids," said Michael Riley, Vice President, Marketing for Bandai America Inc. "We are committed to creating the best toy collection that will capture the essence of 'Firehouse Tales' and allow kids to bring their favorite characters to life. In addition, we are excited to launch the line with construction and bath toys, which are popular play patterns for preschoolers.” From Warner Bros. Animation, "Firehouse Tales" chronicles the adventures of three junior fire trucks fresh from the factory that wish to become big-time fire fighters. There’s just one little drawback – they have to go to school first to learn the skills they need to be a fire truck. Fun and adventure unfold at the school, where the young trucks-in-training practice daily, venturing out on emergencies to become the best fire fighters they can be, while learning to laugh at their foibles when things don’t always work out as planned.
