Warner Bros. Consumer Products And Cartoon Network Name KIDdesigns Master Toy Licensee For “Codename: Kids Next Door”

(October 18, 2004 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Cartoon Network announced today that they have awarded KIDdesigns Inc, an affiliate of SDI Technologies, the master toy license for Cartoon Network’s hit animated television show, “Codename: Kids Next Door.” KIDdesigns will develop a variety of “Codename: Kids Next Door” toys inspired by the property’s core characters. Since the show’s launch in December 2002, it has proven to be a ratings success, ranking number one on Cartoon Network for boys 6-11 in 2003 and 2004. Cracking the code of success and continuing to perform strong, “Codename: Kids Next Door” will kick off its fourth season this fall on October 29, 2004 and continue into 2005. The series has already been given the greenlight through its sixth season, which will take it to 78 half-hour episodes. KIDdesigns will launch a limited line of toys in spring 2005, with the full product line hitting retail shelves in fall 2005. Products being developed include action figures, vehicles, plush toys, youth electronics, electronic hand-held games, plug n’ play games, playsets, role-play toys and more. “At Warner Bros. Consumer Products, we work with partners who understand our brands and create high-quality merchandise that stays true to the likeness of our properties," said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President, Domestic Licensing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "KIDdesigns clearly captures the show's theme of kid empowerment and teamwork in all of its upcoming merchandise. We anticipate the popularity of ‘Codename: Kids Next Door’ will continue growing following the launch of the fourth season and this innovative new toy line.” “Tom Warburton’s imaginative series, ‘Codename: Kids Next Door,’ takes kids on thrilling, extraordinary missions where they utilize homemade 2 x 4 technology to defeat their enemies, which makes a toy line a natural extension of the property,” said John Friend, Senior Vice President, Cartoon Network Enterprises. “We’re pleased that KIDdesigns has been awarded the master toy license. We think they are the right partner to translate the fun and adventure of the series to the world of toys.” “Children have embraced ‘Codename: Kids Next Door’ and we are excited about developing creative, collectible toys that capture the fun and spirit of the characters,” said Isaac Ashkenazi, President of KIDdesigns. “We are delighted to work closely with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Cartoon Network on extending this incredible television property into a new product line that kids will want to own.” KIDdesigns will preview its line this week at the NY Toy Fair in its showroom located at 1107 Broadway Suite 900. “Codename: Kids Next Door” is the story of five extraordinary 10-year-olds, who have formed a covert team called the Kids Next Door (KND). KND invites kids to join a secret club empowering them to solve extraordinary missions using technology and teamwork while fighting for kids’ rights. To mask their identities, they have taken numbers instead of names. Led by Numbuh One from the fortress of their Treehouse headquarters, the KND team has vowed to knock down anyone who gets in the way of their stated mission. About Warner Bros.
