Warner Bros. Consumer Products And BEC-TERO Entertainment Co. Announce Opening Of First Warner Bros. Studio Store In Thailand
(February 22, 2002 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products and BEC-TERO Entertainment Co., Ltd., today opened the first ever Warner Bros. Studio Store in Thailand, it was announced by Mark Matheny, Executive Vice President of International for Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Brian L. Marcar, Managing Director, BEC-TERO Entertainment.
Through an exclusive retail licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products,
BEC-TERO Entertainment Co., Ltd. plans to open two more Warner Bros. Studio Stores during the first quarter of 2002, with additional stores planned in key locations later in the year. The agreement allows BEC-TERO to build and operate both freestanding and shop-within-shop Studio Stores throughout Thailand.

Studio Stores to Thailand and are pleased to be working with a partner as well-respected as BEC-TERO,” said Matheny. “Given the worldwide popularity of our properties and characters, we are certain that the Studio Stores will be an exciting addition to this growing marketplace.”
Warner Bros. Consumer Products and BEC-TERO Entertainment Co., Ltd first began their working relationship in 2000, when they introduced the world-renowned Looney Tunes characters to Thailand with the launch of the official “Looney Tunes Club” for children. Appearing on Thai TV Color Channel 3, the program brings the irreverent antics of
Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Tweety and the Tasmanian Devil to viewers across Thailand through a television show filled with fast-paced fun, energy, good humor, interactive games and events and home viewer participation.

In a ceremony attended by Warner Bros. and BEC-TERO executives, the first store opened in Bangkok, at Central Plaza LadPrao, a key retail area. The event unfolded with an official ribbon cutting by executives from both companies. Looney Tunes costume characters were onsite for meet-and-greets and photo opportunities.
A freestanding shop, with 200 square meters of retail space, featuring the full range of the Warner Bros. properties, the store is the very first of its kind to open in Thailand. Inside the store, shoppers will find high-quality products, ranging from adult and children’s apparel to fashion and home accessories, gifts and toys revolving around classic and current Warner Bros. stars, including Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, The Powerpuff Girls and DC Comics characters.
Also, in the first quarter of 2002, a shop-in-shop Studio Store will be opened within Thailand’s leading department store, Central Chidlom. A four-story freestanding flagship Studio Store is scheduled to open in Spring, 2002.
