Turner Classic Movies And Warner Home Video To Launch Three New Classic Film Collections March 13

(November 14, 2011 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Home Video and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) today announced the addition of three new classic film collections to their popular Greatest Classic Legends line. Available at retail March 13, the DVD collections include: “TCM Greatest Classic Films Legends: Doris Day” – “Calamity Jane,” “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies,” “Love Me or Leave Me,” “Romance on the High Seas”; “TCM Greatest Classic Films Legends: Katharine Hepburn” – “The Philadelphia Story,” “Little Women,” “Stage Door,” “Morning Glory”; and “TCM Greatest Classic Films Gangsters: Edward G. Robinson” – “Bullets or Ballots,” “Kid Galahad,” “Larceny, Inc.,” “The Little Giant.” These star-powered collections feature such legendary Hollywood talents as Doris Day, Katharine Hepburn, Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Joan Bennett, Ginger Rogers, Lucille Ball, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, Jane Wyman, Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason and many others. Each collection contains four classic films and is affordably priced at $27.92 SRP. Orders are due February 7. Since 2009, these collections have been made available in separate waves and promoted on-air throughout the year on TCM. To further build momentum around these titles, Warner Home Video has aligned the street dates for the collections to coincide with Turner Classic Movies programming. In this wave, the Doris Day collection is timed to release just before TCM’s “Star of the Month” celebration of the Academy Award nominee in April. Additional promotional support for these titles will include TV programming consisting of on-air promotional spots on Turner Networks and print advertising in the “Now Playing” guide.
