Tony Krantz Moves To Warner Bros. Television

(July 10, 2002 – Los Angeles, CA) - Tony Krantz, head of Imagine Television since 1997, will leave the shingle to set up his own company at Warner Bros. Television, it was announced today by Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television. The yet to be named company, will begin its tenure on the Warner Bros. lot effective immediately. “We are delighted that Tony will set up shop at Warner Bros. Television,” said Roth. “His entrepreneurial skills and success in finding and cultivating talent are well known. We look forward to a long and very fruitful relationship.” “My time at Imagine Television has been tremendously rewarding,” said Krantz. Brian and Ron provided me with an opportunity to start my career as a producer, and they have my utmost respect and gratitude.” “Warner Brothers, with Peter Roth, Bruce Rosenblum and Craig Hunegs, has offered me an opportunity to continue to grow that was too good to pass up,” added Krantz. “ I hope to bring to them the kind of programming that is further extension of the brand of shows we produced at Imagine, and consistent with the level of excellence that they and their team have achieved.” Krantz will continue as executive producer on Imagine’s critically acclaimed television series “24” which he brought to Fox last season. All other current Imagine Television projects will continue on at ITV. As Co-Chairman and CEO of Imagine Television, Krantz is responsible for bringing such distinct and creative programming to the air as “Felicity,” “Sports Night,” “The PJ’s,” “Wonderland,” “The Beast” and most recently “24.” In 2001, Krantz also produced David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive,” which although released theatrically to critical acclaim, began as a television pilot project for ABC. Prior to his partnership at Imagine, Krantz was an agent at CAA for 15 years, where he was personally responsible for packaging such successful television series as “ER,” “Twin Peaks,” “Melrose Place,” “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “The West Wing.”
