Telepictures Productions And Next Entertainment Hold Nationwide Search For America’s Most Eligible Bachelor

(September 6, 2001 – Burbank, CA) - “The Bachelor,” an original one-hour primetime reality television series, which gives one lucky man the opportunity to meet the woman of his dreams, has begun a national manhunt to find “America’s Most Eligible Bachelor.” The series, which will air during the 2001-02 season on ABC, will give America’s most eligible single man a one-of-a-kind opportunity to find his true love and, hopefully, his bride-to-be. “The Bachelor” is a romantic journey in which one man meets dozens of women, and selects 15 women from that group. Then after getting to know each of them, he continues to narrow the field again, from 10 to five, then three, and ultimately, the one woman he will ask to marry him in the series’ final episode. The show also takes an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at the lives of each participant involved in this unique courtship. The bachelor will date each candidate, introduce them to family and friends and even take a few of them home to meet mom! But the big question is: After all of this, when he pops the question, will she accept? Candidates for the potential Bachelor can be self-submitted or nominated by friends, family or co-workers beginning September 6, 2001. Those interested can get rules and submit their applications by calling (888) 878-2634 or by logging on to www.abc.com, keyword: bachelor. Applications can also be faxed to: (310) 207-7373. “The Bachelor” will be executive produced by Mike Fleiss. The series will be produced by Next Entertainment in association with Telepictures Productions for ABC.
