Stephanie Fierman Named Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing And Paula Lowitt Named Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, DC Comics
(March 8, 2005 – New York, NY) – Stephanie Fierman has joined the DC Comics staff as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing and Paula Lowitt has been named Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, DC Comics, it was announced today by Paul Levitz, President & Publisher, DC Comics.
In this newly created position, Fierman will oversee both the direct sales and the book trade activities of the company, as well as the marketing and promotion of the company’s brands across its own publications and products, including DC Comics, Vertigo, WildStorm, CMX, and MAD Magazine.
Lowitt will be involved with all of the company’s business and legal matters involving the expansion of DC’s film, television and animated programming, as well as special projects as part of the company’s senior management team in this newly created position.
“Paula’s corporate, legal and entertainment experience will be invaluable as DC Comics continues to introduce films and television and animation programs,” said Levitz. “She will also be an important member of our team as we grow the company to take full advantage of our unique role within Warner Bros.”

Most recently, Ms. Fierman was Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Zagat Survey, where she was responsible for driving global growth through strategic sales, marketing and brand initiatives. Prior to Zagat, Ms. Fierman was Chief Marketing Officer at Reed Business Information, where she oversaw traditional and online development of brands including Variety, B&C and Publishers Weekly. Earlier business and brand development work included stints at Winstar Communications, JP Morgan Chase and Citigroup.
Ms. Fierman is a Harvard Business School Baker Scholar and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to DC Comics, Lowitt worked as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs for Senator International, an independent film finance company, where she oversaw acquisitions, financing and distribution deals. Before that, Lowitt worked with Columbia Pictures as Senior Counsel for its Motion Picture Group in Los Angeles, and at New York-based law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP where she specialized in securities law, M&A and corporate governance.
Lowitt received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctor-Masters of Business Administration from Fordham University.
