Sesame Workshop And Warner Home Video Go Green For Earth Day With Re-Releases Of “Love The Earth” And “Being Green” On April 6, 2010!

(February 24, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – With Earth Day 2010 just around the corner Warner Home Video (WHV) and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, are doing their part with the re-release of “Love The Earth” and “Being Green” on DVD on April 6, 2010. America’s favorite red monster Elmo teaches kids why it is so important to recycle and go green in these two educational DVDs. Order due date for both these DVDs is March 2, 2010. In “Love The Earth,” Elmo goes on an adventure with friends Zoe and Baby Bear as they explore Bear National Park with Papa Bear in search of the elusive Blue-Feathered Swallowing Swallow. If Elmo and his friends are able to find the Swallow they will earn their Bird-Watching Badges. While looking for the bird, they have fun discovering beautiful things in nature! They also learn that there are some simple things they can do to keep nature beautiful and clean, such as putting trash where it belongs, recycling, reusing things and saving water. “Love The Earth” will introduce young children to the environment from their point of view, in a positive and appealing way. In “Being Green,” Hollywood star Paul Rudd plays Mr. Earth, who teaches Elmo and Abby Cadabby how to be environmentally conscious and help the earth. In her desire to help Elmo to be more “green,” Abby accidentally turns Elmo the color GREEN and can’t remember how to change him back! Lots of fun ensues as Abby is eventually able to poof Elmo red again and Cookie Monster, Rosita, and Telly Monster pitch in, pledging to be eco-friendly …. because Earth Rocks! As a special bonus feature, “Being Green” also contains 16 pages of downloadable activities and story sheets to extend the learning at home. Teaching budding conservationists the importance of preserving nature’s wonders, “Being Green” is part of Sesame Workshop’s green-friendly initiatives. “Warner Home Video is delighted to release ‘Love The Earth’ and ‘Being Green’ just in time for Earth Day 2010,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President, of Family, Animation & Partner Brands Marketing. “There is no one better than Elmo and his friends at ‘Sesame Street’ to show pre-schoolers how beautiful nature is and teach kids across the nation what they can do to appreciate and help preserve the world around them.” Celebrating its impressive 40th anniversary last season, “Sesame Street” is the longest-running program in children’s television. The series has received more Emmy awards than any other show in television history, including a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring the 40th year.
