Russell Arons Named Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing For Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

(June 15, 2009 – Burbank, CA) – Russell Arons has been named Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, it was announced today by Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, to whom she will directly report. An accomplished marketing executive with over 15 years of brand management and entertainment marketing experience, Arons will be responsible for brand marketing, product marketing, product publicity, and consumer research across all WBIE franchises and titles. “Russell brings with her an impressive level of brand development and marketing experience, as well as a global perspective,” said Tremblay. “We have assembled an incredibly strong marketing organization at WBIE and I am pleased to complete this structure with an executive of Russell’s caliber.” Arons joins WBIE from Electronic Arts, where she has served since 2007 as head of Marketing for the “EA Play” division which includes “The Sims” and “MySims” franchises, “Harry Potter” and the Hasbro portfolio, based on popular toy brands and board games. She has also helped establish original IP for casual video games targeted to new consumer groups. “There are so many talented and experienced people at WBIE with a deep knowledge and love of games, which makes this a very exciting move for me,” said Arons. “With access to a wealth of well known brands, WBIE has established itself as a serious presence in the industry and I look forward to helping continue that trend of growth and success.” Arons will remain at EA for now to assist with the transition and will officially join WBIE after the Independence Day holiday. Prior to joining EA in 2007, Arons served as Vice President of Marketing at InfoSpace where she managed marketing, public relations, consumer research, and user experience for the On-Line and Mobile divisions. In 10 years at Mattel, Russell was the Vice President and General Manager of the Barbie toy business. In leading Barbie, she revitalized the brand through the expansion into home entertainment, live shows, and on-line experiences. Additionally, she masterminded the “Barbie & Ken Break-Up” which captured over 380 million media impressions. Also at Mattel, she served as Vice President of the Entertainment/Male Action toy business where she was responsible for selecting and securing entertainment properties for development. Arons is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Lake Forrest College in Illinois with degrees in Business and Philosophy and was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa, academic honorary society. Warner Bros. publishes games worldwide through Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), with production, distribution, sales and marketing of internally developed as well as third party game titles.
