On February 1, 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers became the first NFL franchise to record their sixth Super Bowl championship. After battling through the toughest schedule in the NFL this season, the Steelers defeated the San Diego Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs to earn a chance to play in Tampa against the red-hot Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.
