Production Begins On The Next Thriller From Raw Feed “Supermarket”

(December 13, 2007 – Burbank, CA) – Daniel Myrick’s second film contribution to the Raw Feed franchise, “Supermarket,” began principal photography this week in the Los Angeles area. The film, which is the first purely sci-fi Raw Feed release, is directed by Ben Rock (“The Perfect Candidate,” “The Curse of the Blair Witch”), written by David Simkins (“Blade: The Series,” “Angel,” “Roswell”) and Julia Fair (“Believers,” “The Fountain”), produced by Daniel Myrick (“The Blair Witch Project,” “Believers”), and stars Carlos Bernard (“Tony Alameda” on TV’s “24”). “Supermarket,” a Raw Feed Productions acquisition, is slated for release in 2008 by Warner Home Video. Additional cast members include Jeff Licon (“Joan of Arcadia”), Samantha Streets (“CSI: Miami,” “Malcolm in the Middle”), Courtney Ford (“Outside,” “Ugly Betty”), Keith Hudson (“Bad Boys II”), Rockmond Dunbar (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” TV’s “Prison Break”), and Matthew St. Patrick (“Six Feet Under”). Tony Krantz (“Otis,” “24”) and John Shiban (“Rest Stop 2,” “The X-Files”) are also producers. The production team for “Supermarket” includes director of photography Walt Lloyd (“The Air I Breathe,” “House M.D.”), production designer Frank Bollinger (“Otis,”“The Objective”), and make-up artist Myke Michaels (“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”). Benny Hughes (Jeff Licon) and Whitney Steadman (Samantha Streets) are closing up at their small rural grocery store for the night, when suddenly they find themselves in the middle of a hostage situation with a motley crew of armed intruders helmed by a man named Ritter (Carlos Bernard). As hostages start dying, and dead bodies pile up in every aisle, the captives fight for their very survival ... but they'll soon find that they face an enemy far more powerful, and strange, than they could ever imagine. Films under the “Raw Feed” banner are a mix of thriller, horror, and sci-fi with a strong psychological and dramatic edge, and are as much psychological as they are thriller or horror genre. The films will be released on DVD in rated and unrated versions, and will overflow with innovative extra features and bonus content. The “Raw Feed” label originated from the creative minds of Tony Krantz, Daniel Myrick and John Shiban. The first film in the series, “Rest Stop” (written and directed by Shiban), debuted on DVD in October 2006, followed by “Sublime” (directed by Krantz) and “Believers” (directed by Myrick) in 2007. In addition to “Supermarket,” the Raw Feed franchise has recently completed production on “Otis” (directed by Krantz) and “Rest Stop 2” (written by Shiban and directed by Shawn Papazian), which are slated for release in 2008.
