Polly Cohen Named Executive Vice President, Production, At Warner Bros. Pictures
(February 22, 2006 - Burbank, CA) – Polly Cohen has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Production, at Warner Bros. Pictures. The announcement was made by Jeff Robinov, President, Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.
Cohen moves up from her previous post at the Studio as Senior Vice President, Production. Among the films she is currently working on are “Superman Returns,” the Harry Potter series, “License to Wed,” “I Am Legend,” and “Blood Diamond.” Films she has previously overseen include the first four Harry Potter movies, as well as “Must Love Dogs,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “Gothika,” “Scooby Doo,” “Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed,” “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood,” “Analyze This” and “Analyze That.” Earlier, she was on the production team for “Three Kings” and “A Perfect Storm.”
“Polly has done a fantastic job overseeing some of our most important movies,” said Robinov. She has great creative instincts and can handle any production. She is a key part of our creative group, and I am lucky to have her on our team.”
Cohen joined Warner Bros. Studios in 1997 as a Creative Executive and was named a Production Executive in 1998. In 1999 she became Vice President, Production, and in 2003 she moved up to Senior Vice President. Earlier, while still a graduate student in USC’s Peter Stark Production Program, Cohen worked for Warner Bros. Pictures as a production management trainee. Upon obtaining her MFA, she joined Jersey Films, where she spent two years, rising to the post of creative executive.
Cohen received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego in Chinese Studies, and lived and worked in Southeast Asia before entering the entertainment industry.
