On Pedder And Warner Bros. Consumer Products Asia Present “The Kansas Project” - World-Famous Designers To Re-Interpret Dorothy’s Famous Ruby Slippers For Hong Kong

(October 20, 2008 – Hong Kong and Burbank, CA) - The upcoming 70th anniversary in 2009 of one of the most iconic films of all time, “The Wizard of Oz,” has inspired On Pedder to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products Asia to create “The Kansas Project,” an exciting philanthropic initiative involving leading fashion and accessory designers. Following Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection, which was recently unveiled in the U.S., “The Kansas Project” offers Hong Kong its own collection of “ruby slippers” as imagined for a Dorothy of today. Presenting a stunning array of re-interpreted ruby slippers that is bound to create a stir of magical awe in Hong Kong, “The Kansas Project” will include designs from grand couturiers Azzedine Alaia, Alexander McQueen, Azzaro, Bruno Frisoni, Christian Louboutin, Costume National, Erickson Beamon, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Maison Martin Margiela, Nicholas Kirkwood, Pierre Hardy, Repetto, Rene Caovilla and Stella McCartney. “‘The Wizard of Oz’ has enchanted generations of fans the world over, and has remained an enduring favourite for decades,” said Bianca Lee, Managing Director, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Greater China, South East Asia and India. "We are thrilled to continue the global momentum and excitement around The Ruby Slipper Collection by extending the experience to Hong Kong’s fans in a whole new way through this ‘The Kansas Project.’” Each pair of slippers by the famous designers will be able to be purchased via a silent auction starting November 24, 2008, and culminating with a special cocktail event to be held in early December 2008. Proceeds generated from the silent auction will go directly to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, a partnership On Pedder is proud to launch with this project.
