Oxygen Acquires Blockbuster Movie Package From Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution
(December 14, 2004 – New York, NY) - In its biggest feature film package acquisition deal to date, Oxygen has signed an agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution for the rights to 21 major theatrical releases, including the television premieres of “Ocean's Twelve” and “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous.” The agreement commences in February 2005 and the acquired films feature some of the most popular young actresses on screen today. The announcement was made today by Debby Beece, President of Programming for Oxygen and Eric Frankel, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution.
Additional titles that will air in their premiere network window on Oxygen include: “Murder by Numbers,” “Two Weeks Notice,” “Alex & Emma,” “Raising Helen,” “Catwoman,” “New York Minute,” “Cinderella Story,” “What a Girl Wants,” “Taking Lives,” “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Rumor Has It,” “A Lot Like Love” and “Must Love Dogs,” as well as four films from Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2005 and 2006 release slates. The actresses represented in this movie package are among today’s hottest stars, including Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Hilary Duff, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Miranda Richardson, Julia Roberts, Hilary Swank and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
