Oscilloscope Laboratories Announces Exclusive Distribution Agreement With Warner Bros. Digital Distribution
(June 30, 2009 – New York) – Oscilloscope Laboratories (O-Scope), announced today an exclusive distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (WBDD) to bring Oscilloscope’s films to Video-On-Demand (VOD) and download-to-own across all platforms including cable, satellite, digital and wireless. Oscilloscope’s catalog will debut on these platforms at the conclusion of each film’s theatrical run.
Through this relationship, O-Scope will continue to have the flexibility to execute national theatrical campaigns for all of its films, yet maximize these emerging distribution channels at optimal times, including offering its content day-and-date on VOD, and potentially in the future before its DVD street date.
O-Scope Head Adam Yauch said “We went out to breakfast with these cats, had a good time hanging out shooting the sh-t ... so I said, what the hell, they seem like they know what they're doing. Let's do this."
The agreement kicked off with Oscilloscope’s highly successful and hugely acclaimed (On over 70 Top Ten Lists for 2008) hit “Wendy and Lucy,” starring Michelle Williams and directed by Kelly Reichardt. “Wendy and Lucy” was released May 5 on DVD and debuted day and date on VOD and digital platforms. It was carried by all major distributors including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, iTunes and Amazon Video On Demand.
This summer WBDD will work with O-Scope to release the following titles:
“The Garden” - Academy Award Nominated documentary
“Scott Walker: 30 Century Man” - Time Out London’s Top 50 Music films of all time
“Treeless Mountain” – Multiple award-winning Korean film
