Oliver Hudson Makes His Television Debut In The WB's New Comedy Series "My Guide To Becoming A Rock Star"

(February 14, 2002 – Burbank, CA) — The kinetic and musically driven half-hour comedy starring Oliver Hudson, “MY GUIDE TO BECOMING A ROCK STAR,” is scheduled to bow on Thursday, March 13 with back-to-back episodes at 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. ET. A third original episode will air during the premiere week in a special airing on Friday, March 15 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The series’ title was previously named after the British comedy series “The Young Person’s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star,” upon which it’s based. The son of Goldie Hawn and brother of Kate Hudson, Oliver Hudson stars as aspiring rock star Jace Darnell, who through earnest yet somewhat delusional narration lays out his master plan for world rock 'n' roll domination in easy-to-follow steps. For the role, Hudson displayed his vocal talents recording songs performed in the series as well as the theme song. With episode titles like “Fame,” “The Road Gig,” “The Yoko Factor” and “The Deal,” “MY GUIDE” ... will follow Jace’s band SlipDog every step of the way, humorously depicting the ups and downs of making it in the tough and uncompromising world of the music industry. The show is layered with eclectic music cuts ranging from Elvis Costello, B-52’s and Duran Duran to Coldplay, Dido and Blink 182. John Riggi (“The Dennis Miller Show,” “The Larry Sanders Show”) serves as executive producer along with Bryan Elsley, who created the series in Britain. The series also stars Kevin Rankin, Lauren Hodges, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Rick Overton, Michael Des Barres, Shannon Tweed and a revolving cast of drummers; James de Bello, Kris Lemche and Brian Dietzen.
