New Game Show Format “No Brainer” to be Produced by BlazHoffski to Air on BNN in the Netherlands in Deal with Warner Bros. International Television Production
(August 15, 2013 – London, U.K.) – “No Brainer,” the exciting new quiz show co-developed by TV Asahi Corporation and Warner Bros. International Television Production, has been produced by BlazHoffski in The Netherlands and will air later this month on BNN.
The ten episode series will air daily from August 19–30 in the 8pm primetime slot.
This is the first international commission of the format, which is based on the highly successful Japanese game show “Speed Kings.”
In this show every player has a price on their head. Four friends have taken a general knowledge test and have been ranked in order of intelligence. The least knowledgeable is worth the most cash for the team. The most knowledgeable, who in theory should have the best chance of getting an answer right, is worth five times less.
To win big, the whole team has to pull together throughout the various rounds in order to win the big cash prize.
Earlier this year, a pilot episode was produced by U.K. production company Wall to Wall (part of WBITVP’s Shed Media) to give the format a fully international flavor and there is a significant amount of interest from a variety of channels in the U.K. and elsewhere in the international market.
“‘No Brainer’ is a simple yet brilliant game show. We knew when we worked with TV Asahi to re-develop the rules and game play of the show that it would appeal to international audiences. We believe that BlazHoffski’s version will be the first of many produced outside of Japan,” commented Andrew Zein, Senior Vice President, Creative, Format Development and Sales, Warner Bros. International Television Production.
“We are very happy with this original game show. It is a good combination of fun and general knowledge, very accessible for a broad audience and a clever though simple format,” said Dan Blazer, Creative Director and Co-Founder, BlazHoffski.
TV Asahi and Warner Bros. International Television Production signed an agreement in 2012 to co-develop TV formats which have been produced and aired on TV Asahi.
