Karen McTier Promoted To Executive Vice President, Domestic Licensing For Warner Bros. Consumer Products

(March 22, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Karen McTier has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Domestic Licensing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, it was announced today by Dan Romanelli, President, Worldwide Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Reporting directly to Romanelli, McTier oversees the domestic licensing activities in North America for all Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network properties including Looney Tunes, Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo, The Powerpuff Girls and DC Comics. She also handles the theme park licensing business. McTier will continue working with the North America Sales team to increase business of their top accounts and managing domestic Studio Licensing as part of the division’s ongoing support for Warner Bros.’ feature film and television properties. “Karen has been an extremely integral member of the Warner Bros. Consumer Products team since she first joined the company thirteen years ago,” said Romanelli. “She has made immeasurable contributions to the success and the growth of the company year after year, and her promotion is well-earned and indicative of our ongoing commitment to recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance.” McTier joined Warner Bros. Consumer Products in 1988 as Director of Licensing where she was instrumental in launching the Batman licensing program beginning with the first film in 1989. She was promoted to Vice President of Licensing, U.S. Sales in 1992. In 1994, McTier was elevated to Vice President of North American Sales and she played a major role in the repositioning and re-launching of the Looney Tunes licensing program with over 350 licensees. Three years later, she was named Senior Vice President of North American Sales. Before joining Warner Bros. Consumer Products, McTier worked at Mattel Inc. for over three years. Prior to that, she spent five years in the advertising agency business. Warner Bros.
