ITV And Warner Bros. International Television Enter Licensing Agreement In The UK

(September 28, 2004 – Burbank, CA) - ITV and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement for free television rights to new and library feature films to be broadcast on ITV1, ITV2 and the soon-to-launch ITV3. The deal was announced today by Nigel Pickard, ITV’s Director of Programmes and Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television. Under the terms of the deal, ITV will have access to feature films from Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2003, 2004 and 2005 theatrical slates including titles such as “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “The Matrix Reloaded,” “The Matrix Revolutions,” “Scooby Doo” and “Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed,” “The Last Samurai,” “Troy,” “Ocean’s 11” and the upcoming “Ocean’s 12,” “The Polar Express” and “Alexander.” Also included in the deal is an extensive list of titles from WBITD’s vast feature film library including “Unforgiven,” “The Fugitive,” “The Matrix,” “Maverick,” “Lethal Weapon” and “Wild, Wild West” to name a few. A sister channel to ITV1, it is aimed at a younger audience and features brand extensions of ITV1’s most popular shows as well as feature films and live sporting events. ITV3 is a contemporary drama channel launching on 1 November 2004. This new digital channel, aimed at a 35+ audience, will broadcast the best of ITV’s originated UK drama as well as acquired US crime drama and feature films. Warner Bros.
