Harry Potter Worldwide Premiere November 4th Leicester Square, London

(September 7, 2001 – London, England) – Warner Bros. Pictures has set the date for the worldwide premiere of “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone.” (Titled “Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone” in the U.K.) The premiere will take place on the afternoon of Sunday November 4th at The Odeon Cinema in London’s Leicester Square with a celebration to follow. Warner Bros. Pictures will release the live action family adventure film in North America and in the U.K. on November 16. Based on the first of J.K. Rowling’s popular children’s novels about Harry Potter, the film tells the story of a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents’ mysterious deaths at the hands of a powerful adversary. “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
